Wheelchair Assessment Tools

Millions of people with disabilities in developing countries across the globe need wheelchairs. Our goal for the Wheels Project is to improve the lives of people with disabilities by examining the function and fit of wheelchairs for use in these developing countries. The goal is to improve the mobility of individuals that need wheelchairs. provided in low-resourced countries providing feedback to wheelchair manufacturers who graciously donate wheelchairs to areas such as Kenya so individuals that need wheelchairs can receive the devices to improve mobility.

The Wheels Research Project was established by Karen Rispin of AT Catalyst and Vicki Sheafer, Ph.D., at LeTourneau University.  All measurement tools were developed by Karen Rispin and are freely available.
